Children of the Corn (1984)

Children of the Corn. It is a cult lead by a boy named  Isaac Chroner, who tells the children of the town that anyone over the age of 18 must be sacrificed to the god called "He Who Walks Behind the Rows" in order to have a successful corn harvest. Typically the people (children?) are sacrificed on their 19th birthday.

Malachi

Eventually, the rest of the kids get tired of Issac's arrogance and are lead by another boy named Malachi and overthrow Issac. It is revealed that "He Who Walks Behind the Rows" is a demon, and that by burning the cornfield they can escape. By they, I mean the couple who stumble upon the town, named Burt and Vicky, along with two children who did not want to be a part of the cult. 


This movie has a good number of sequels, all of which are good in their own way. I recommend this movie to anyone who has an interest in things such as cults and the possible things that can happen. Although I personally don't think that this is a true cult. At least, I hope Stephen King just made it up....it would be very scary if it was based on something true.
