This is a movie set in a future that looks somewhat bleak. It's based in Australia, and the world seems full of desert.
Max is a road cop. He tries to help keep order in a future where order and law are breaking down.
His friend is burned badly and Max becomes disillusioned with the police force that he is a part of. He begins to take matters into his own hands when a rogue gang of bikers brutally runs over his wife and son.
From then on, Max is his own man, never being tied down by anything but his pursuit of justice.
